We are looking for 2 animators with a specific interest in CGI to join us on a major documentary production for National Geographic Channel.
'Death of the Megabeasts' is fusion of drama-documentary and CGI which investigates the demise of the dinosaurs some 40,000 years ago. We are offering an opportunity for two people to gain a real insight into the latest CGI techniques as they join our production team both on location and in the studio.
In the first part of the attachment, the successful applicants will spend one week getting hands-on with the CGI crew as they shoot background plates in the bush. It's a precise and meticulous process that will require the applicants to assist the team by taking measurements, positioning undergrowth and maybe even 'doing a dinosaur walk' ! All essential elements that will help our animators bring the dinosaurs to life.
Back in the production office, applicants may be requested to assist with preparing the rushes for our animation team and the third part of their attachment.
In part 3, our applicants will travel to Sydney where they will gain experience with top CGI graphics house, Hive Studios. Here they will have chance to see the latest technology in action...spending one-to-one time with our animators as they work on each scene. There will also be the opportunity to take on assisting duties and gain an insight into one of Australian's leading studios.
Candidates should be available from 14th May for the one-week plate shoot. Part three will commence in mid-June for a minimum of three weeks (dates negotiable).
These are all expenses paid professional positions and therefore require enthusiastic, wannabe animators with a genuine passion.
